PIAG Sponsors SkillsUSA YouTube Contest with Cash Prize

The Printing and Imaging Association of Georgia's Educational Foundation is sponsoring a YouTube contest to generate buzz and recognition for the 2009 SkillsUSA Georgia graphic communications and advertising design competitions, which the association sponsors. The winner will receive $100 cash and recognition in PIAG publications.

Contestants are asked to produce a YouTube video of no more than four minutes using photos and video taken during the 2009 SkillsUSA Georgia training and competitions held at Heidelberg USA April 16 - 18. All photos and video have been uploaded to Flickr for easy accessibility. Contestants can use any format to produce their video. Some suggestions include PC based Windows Movie Maker, Mac’s iMovie or the website www.animoto.com. Judging is based on number of views, YouTube rating and input from a panel of industry representatives.

“You may be asking, why is PIAG sponsoring a video contest?” said Bill Garvey, Chairman, PIAG Educational Foundation. “PIAG member companies are no longer singular focused. Many offer an integrated solution to client's marketing communication needs. The most effective marketing programs incorporate print into a broader marketing mix. PIAG is promoting this contest and the results via mail stuffers, our quarterly magazine and printed postcards, as well as the internet.”

The contest is open to anyone. Entries must be posted by June 1. The winner will be announced the week of June 6. For a complete set of rules, click here.
